Gina Rodriguez Fully Posted a Video of Her Saying the N-Word on Instagram
- Gina Rodriguez posted a video of her saying the n-word to her Instagram Story.
- She then issued an apology and said that she's sorry if she offended anyone.
Oh boy, here we go y'all. Twitter has officially settled on their victim of the day, and it's not one of the usual daily offenders if you can believe it. It's not Azealia Banks, it's not Donald Trump, or Piers Morgan, who have all had the same amount of hate thrown their way online. Nope, this time it's Gina Rodriguez, who came under fire in the past for making controversial " all women matter" comments, claiming that her father is a dark-skinned Afro-Latino man when he is not, and saying that Latina actresses get paid the least amount of money, when that is not true.
Now, Gina is getting dragged online for posting a video to her Instagram Story of her in a glam session getting her makeup done. While in the chair, Gina decided to whip out her phone and record herself singing along to Fugees' song, "Ready or Not." And while this action wasn't inherently bad, Gina sang the n-word during the line where Lauren Hill says "Believe me, fronting n****s give me heebie-jeebies." It wasn't a good look, to say the least.
Hours after the video went up, Gina issued an apology, also on her Instagram Story. "I just wanted to reach out and apologize. I am sorry," she said. "I am sorry if I offended anyone by singing along to the Fuguees, to a song I love, that I grew up on. I love Lauryn Hill and I really am sorry if I offended you."
This wasn't the only time that Gina issued an apology to the black community. After some of her previous questionable comments caught fire, she publicly apologized back in January on the Sway in the Morning show. "The black community was the only community I looked to growing up. We didn't have that many Latino shows, so the black community made me feel like I was seen," she said. "So to get anti-black is saying that I'm anti-family."
